About this game
Element Symbols helps teens memorize the chemical symbols they need for science class. Each round shows element names and symbols, and your teen drags each name onto the right symbol, or taps a name and then a symbol. The game mixes easy symbols, such as O for oxygen, with tricky ones that come from Latin names, such as Na for sodium, Fe for iron, K for potassium and Au for gold. Knowing symbols quickly makes balancing equations and reading the periodic table much easier. A useful study tip is to learn the Latin roots: natrium, ferrum, kalium and aurum explain the odd-looking symbols.
